Our "Little" Caleb

Where do I begin? This "little" guy is our middle child and fits the profile to a "T". Last Thursday around 5pm Caleb and his big brother Jonah were outside playing on their Daddy's trailer. The story we get is that Jonah was trying to lift the big gate at the back of the trailer with the help of Caleb when his hands slipped and the gate fell on Caleb's arm. He of course screams (which is nothing new of him, he screams when he gets a tiny scratch) and runs up to the house. I take a once over and say "you will be fine". Then, he goes back outside and tries to practice hitting some baseballs b/c he is about to go play his last T-ball game. Well, he comes inside again crying b/c he is so upset that he will not get to play his last game and get his medal. He tries to convince us that we can just go to his game and not make him play just watch so he can at least get his medal. His Dad and I say "no". "We are not driving clear to El Dorado just so you can get your medal". We tell him"if you do not play your game you will get no medal". So he decides he will go play his game. We are thinking at this point that he just has a bad bruise. So off to the game we went.

I do have to give a brief background on my behalf as to why I did not run him to the E.R. right away. In Caleb's short little life(he just turned six) we have been to the E.R. for RSV, a forehead split open (in which it was glued together just to fall off a day later $800), a E.R. visit for a leg to be x-rayed b/c he could not walk on it for a whole day and as soon as the x-ray was over BAM we could walk($1200), an E.R. visit for a concussion b/c he fell out of our living room window by running over to the screen to see a spider outside and pushed on it to hard and fell right out onto the ground. about a 3ft. drop, and now a trip to the Dr.'s office(not the e.r.) four days after the accident to find out that he did in fact break his arm due to the gate of the trailer falling on it. So do you sympathize with me on not taken the arm injury quite as serious as maybe I should of?

They did not have his favorite color "yellow" so he went with neon orange. He said it was the closest thing to yellow.
This is a picture of him batting. If you look really close you can see the pain on his face as he is swinging the bat. I know "great mother" right? Even with his arm broken he still hit two doubles in the game.
This is him just walking into home plate. I tried to get him to slide(he usually does) but, he just walked over the plate. :( When he would run he would just hang his arm to his side and not move it. Everyone kept asking "what is wrong with his arm?" Oh, nothing his mom is just making him play his last game so he can get his medal with a broken arm!

Here he is after getting his medal just looking at it. I love this picture. Isn't he soo cute? He looks like the sweet little boy that he is. I am soo sorry Caleb, I LOVE you!!! The arm hanging is the broken one. Looks just fine, doesn't it?

I do have to say that we did give him a little TLC. He got to go to Target to pick out a toy and then he got to choose where we ate dinner. He kept telling us he wanted to eat at the place with the grapes on top of the sign. We had know idea what he was talking about. Then he said "bread sticks" ahh! Olive Garden. I was really surprised that he picked this place we do not usually eat here a whole lot. I was glad for the choice. I love the Olive Garden.

Ah lady:( I sympathize with you. We end up paying for almost all of our medical out of pocket. When it's that way, you think really hard about every visit to the doctor. I could totally see us doing something like that because our kids whine so much. He looks so proud of his cast. Hopefully he'll have some fun with it.
