When we came home today we had a BIG box on our front porch. Grace had spotted it first and ran to get her brothers. "Look" she said we have a box. The boys ran over to it and Jonah asked "is it my G.I.Joe things for my birthday?" His Dad says "No, it is your school books". (we home school) His birthday is Sept. 5th. I have not even thought of buying his birthday stuff yet. Anyways, their Dad picked up the box and carried it inside. When they all came in they kept asking "when can we open our school things?".
Side Note: I realized at this point that Ernie has never been at home when we have received our school box in the past.
Ernie:"relax, we will open it in a little while"
Me: "They get really excited to look at all of their new things"
Ernie: "Okay"
So they all gathered around the big box to open it.
Ernie: "Now you guys just sit back and I will hand you your things"
Me: "Oh, I just let them dig it all out by themselves"
Ernie:"Well, this way it won't get all thrown all over the place"
Me: (to myself) "Okay fine we will do it your way this year"

This picture was actually his idea. He said "take a picture of me with my eyes really big" He had the biggest pile of new school books. He will be in 3rd grade this year. He will be exploring Cultures and Countries. I just hope I am able to teach him all of these things.
Caleb with all of his new school books. He was really excited that one of his workbooks is yellow his favorite color.
Grace was getting a little upset that she did not have anything in the box. I told her I had bought her school books the other day. I had picked up some Princess and Strawberry Shortcake workbooks from the Dollar Tree.
She was very happy after she opened the sack of her books.
Here they all are with their new school books. Now I guess we need to pick a day to start school. It will probably be towards the end of the month when all schools used to start. I am hoping to have Caleb's cast off by then since it is on his writing hand. I am also praying that their enthusiasm about these books will continue for about the next nine months!
