Can U Relate???

I am just wondering if there is anyone out there who can relate with me? You see, we(Ernie & I) have known for a very LONG time that we have needed to do some work on our house, especially the North end of it. So instead of starting this project in the late spring or you know maybe even Summer. My Father-N-Law(which I love to death) decides that we or I should say He will start this project now. I know that most of you all know that work in our business has been extremely SLOW. This means that my father-n-law is running out of projects to do around his house so he thinks it would be a great idea to start on our house. Don't get me wrong this is good!

So He, Charles (I will call him by his name) called me about two weeks ago and says, "Hey, I am going to come out tomorrow(tues.) and start tearing off the siding on the north end of the house". I: "I think it is suppose to start raining on Wed., do you think we should wait?" Charles:" Oh, No it will be fine we can just put up some plastic." I: (thinking in my head of course) "Great". So, on Tuesday morning he comes out tears off all of the siding AND takes out the two windows on the North end of the house(that end of the house is my bedroom). When he started to tear off the siding we found out that it was never put on properly in the first place. Which we suspected. There was the siding, then right behind it was our instillation, then the sheet rock in our bedroom. So, needless to say I can see daylight through some cracks in my room.

The Problem you might ask is that His projects take a very LONG time to finish, Ernie is now working 50hrs. a week, and Winter has decided to come early this year. I mean Erine and His dad replaced my backdoor going out into our garage I think two yrs. ago and it still does not have the trim around it on the inside. Another issue that my Father-N-Law does not like our windows that we just replaced 4yrs. ago.

So it has been about two weeks and I still have no siding on that end of my house and I have plywood up in replace of my windows and plastic as my siding. It is SOOO beautiful!!! He did go and order the windows that he wants to use. Something about he wanted windows with a nail flange on them. These type of windows he says are a lot better to use especially on the north end of our house. They are suppose to be in by the end of the week, I am hoping for some windows in and siding on by the end of October.

The good news in all of this is that, hopefully our bedroom will be a lot warmer this winter, hopefully it is all done by this winter, I will finally get to paint my bedroom and be able to use the new bedding and decor. that I bought for our room 1 1/2yrs. ago. Erine would not let me paint the room until we fixed that end off the house in case we would have to replace some of the sheet rock. Like I said, we have known for a long time that this has needed to be done. It takes a long time to get my Hubby motivated to do these types of things. I think that is why Charles just decided one day to do it and came out and got it done. Well, half way. He made a comment to me on the phone one day in which he said"you know sometimes you just have to get something started and that will motivate a person to finish it". I am not sure if he was talking about himself or my hubby??? On Ernie's behalf, He would blame it on lack of funds. I would say that would be a 50/50 statement. He is a wonderful hubby and does do A LOT around our house.

Here are some pictures of my new window coverings. Since Winter has come early this year it has gotten quite cool in our room. So I had to hang up some blankets over our wood. I know that I always say I would of like to live back in the "Little House" days. I guess this is my chance to feel like it! Charles told me to put plastic up on the inside of my house too. I am sorry and don't mean to sound snotty, but can I just say WT(white trash). I was not going to do that.

Can you see the daylight?

This is the outside. Of course the first night we had plastic up we had a few windy days and it ripped off the plastic. It was VERY noisy.

I am hooping that I will be posting some new pics. of our new siding and windows SOON!!! I will also post new pictures of my new bedroom. I am getting excited for this. Maybe I could have a painting party and it could all get done in one day. Any volunteers????
