When I stopped blogging Ernie had only been at His new job about four months and Him not being at home as much was really starting to get to me. I went from having him here and being my other half(literally). To only have him here 3hrs. at night time, and much of those were spent at sport practice's. Now, He has been at His job for over a year. He really enjoys what He does and who He works for. Well, He would much rather be His own boss, but if He has to work for someone else He is thankful for where God had placed him.
I have been very busy over this last year. I feel that the kids and I have adjusted well with not having Ernie around as much. I have went through A LOT of first this past year. I can no longer attend my MOPS group because my kids are to old :(, I don't go down to the church nursery any more because my kids are to old:(, My oldest son went away to church camp for an entire week and didn't even call me:(, I am teaching all three of the kiddo's this year:), and my social life has literally went out the door:(. Can you tell that my first were not exactly my favorite's. With all that said there are many benefits that come from my kids getting older:). For one, I am hoping I have more time to read and do my blogging, I can sleep in because they can get their own breakfast(in the summer of course) and they can buckle themselves up in their car seats. I feel that WE are all at a new stage in life. I thought I would have more time to myself, but nope! Instead of chasing them around and feeding them every three hours, I drive them around to practice and games. I'm sure that will only get worse. All in all I would say that God has totally SPOILED me this last year and I wouldn't trade any of it!
My "little" Jonah has really taken off on a lot of things this past year. He is at a fun, but sometimes frustrating stage for me. I think it is because He is a lot like me. He may look just like his daddy, but has his mamma's personality. Like I said before he was able to go away to church camp with a friend of his for an entire week. This was a HUGE step for me. Thankfully for me the boy that he went with was one of my friend's little boy and she went as a counselor. So she gave me updates and sent me picture's. YEAH for smart phones!!!! He started the 4th grade this year. I must say that he is doing pretty well for having me as his teacher. He is starting to be able to so some school on his own. He also played his first year in contact football with the El Dorado Wildcats. He did struggle at the beginning of the season. He had some issues of not being aggressive enough. He would tell us,"my coaches keep telling me to be mean and I don't want to be mean". I, of course was a proud Momma and said,"hey, I did my job well"(always be nice to other people)lol! So we had to change the vocabulary a little and said,"get aggressive". Then his Daddy was a proud Daddy. By the end of the season all involved commented on how far he had come. He played defensive end with 3 1/2 sacks and 5 fumble recoveries, He also played on the offensive line and kick return. He had a great time and is ready for next season. For his 10th birthday this year Ernie and I took him to a Chief's football game. He was very overwhelmed by the atmospere of the whole thing but, really enjoyed himself. I thank God for the boy he is growing into and for the knowledge that God has already filled him with.
Leaving for camp.
He number 58. He looked so big out there.
All three of us at the Chiefs game.
Caleb- where do I begin?? For starter's we didn't go to the ER this past year and He didn't have any broken bones. YEAH!!! He is such a unique child. I just never know what to expect with him. He has actually matured in a lot of ways or he is just getting smarter and I don't see all he does. Of, course he still tells on himself so I don't have to worry about that. He started the 2nd grade this year. He does pretty well. We are working hard on his reading. I feel this is my fault for dropping the ball a little in 1st grade, but he does improve everyday. He actually enjoys school. I always thought to myself I didn't know if I could teach him. He does get up from the table A LOT, I know if he did go to school I would have a lot of phone calls. So, he does most of his schooling just standing up. I guess that's one of the perks. He LOVE'S to play football out in the front yard and not just touch, full tackle with no gear. He definitely keeps Jonah a run for his money. He gets SO excited when he has beat him, he runs inside and tells us every time. He can not wait to play contact football next year, It will probably be the opposite of Jonah. I will have to tell him not to be so mean. All though he is my adventure boy he is all so my little "lover". He can be the sweetest little boy ever and that just makes me smile and thank God for his little life everyday.
No words needed!
Watching brother play baseball.
I love this picture. He is soo stinkin cute!
Our little "princess" Grace. She may be the youngest and have two older brother's, but make NO mistake she is all girl! She had her first dance recital in the spring. She really loved doing this, but I can't get her back into it because her teacher moved away. I ask her if she is ready to start dance class again and she says,"No, I liked Mrs. Cynna and she is gone". What's a mom to do? I don't force her! She has wanted to play soccer for about a year now, but her daddy says,"NO, I already have two boys"lol! I think that we almost have him talked into letting her try it this spring. She started kidngratern this year. She really likes school and is somewhat easier to teach. She actually gets upset when she has to wait on me to teach her because I am busy with the boys. I hope this last! She absolutely LOVES shoes (it was after all her first word). She had her 5th birthday party this year and she wanted it "cowgirl theme. I had a friend who has horses and surprised her with them when they came to give rides. Although she did turn 5, we all treat her like she is 3 in many ways. I had to remind myself the other day that she is old enough to get on a school bus and be away from me all day. I figure she will go fast enough and I'm sure when she is 16 she will be very independent.
She was so excited that she got some school material when it came this year.
Birthday!
Thank goodness their were four horses because she never wanted to get off.
All though I know that one day they will all grow and be gone(15yrs. to be exact) I am so thankful and blessed that my God loves me enough that He loaned these children to me and intrusted me with their growth until His time. Thank you Jesus!
