My Zucchini Experiment's

As most of you know I have been quite the "Gardener" this summer. While I am sooo thankful that are garden is doing so well. I am also overwhelmed with all of the produce it produces. Especially my zucchini. We have zucchini running out of our ears. (who came up with that expression?it sounds so silly. Oh well) So I have been trying some new recipes that I could use the zucchini in.

My Zucchini plants. I wish they still looked this pretty, but they don't. They still produce though!

My first recipe was Zucchini Boats. Thanks to my friend Kristen who gave me the recipe. We tried these first. They were an okay hit for my family. Jonah was not to trilled with them, but he has always been my picky eater.
We had some other friends who knew we were fixing these and they asked our kids how they were and Jonah stuck his tongue out and put his finger up to his mouth. Then, they asked me "what do you do on a night when the kids do not care for the food you are fixing?" I said "nothing, they have to eat what I fix or at least take the number of bites of their age". Then I make the go hungry for the rest of the night. Just Kidding!

Next, I baked Zucchini Gratin. This is before I baked it.

After baking. There is a story behind this one. As I am preparing this meal I had the laptop on top of the counter and my hubby walks in and says "Oh No! we are having food off of the Internet?" I was on the food network website. He then read the recipe and says "there is NO MEAT in it, I am not a vegan" Those of you that know my husband I am sure you are laughing about now. You feel my pain.
Overall I think this was pretty good. If I fix it again I probably will add some hamburger to it.

Then I baked some bread. It is chocolate chip zucchini bread. This of course was a hit. The kids just think its chocolate chip bread. A little secret never hurts!
